You’re a nut! I love you! Make more videos. This one helped me to understand the fundamentals, but left out some steps. Hey, Spielberg didn’t get right the first couple times out of? the shoot either!

Anyone whos doing this are you using Half Hard wire or Dead soft ?? reason Im asking is because I started a project on sat using Half Hard .. I was almost done with the setting ,, but when I tried to seperate? the wires and bend up (im a dummy) I bent in the wrong directon and snapped the wire !! also ,, do you do the same in the back as in the front to hold the stone in place ?? help ?? newbie,, there should be a site just for this !!

Thanks for stopping by. Both half hard and dead soft are okay. I haven’t heard of anyone using harder than half hard. I prefer half hard when there’s a lot of ornamentation i.e. vines and twirls that need to be sturdy. Dead soft is good if you want a simple design that hugs the stone more. Both can snap though but that is the nature of the craft. It? takes some practice to use just the right pressure when bending wire.

It’s been a while and fact is I don’t have the piece anymore. If I remember right I may have used dead soft wire with half hard binding.BTW, if you are looking for a community? I setup wire_wrapping on LiveJournal, haven’t been on there in a long time but there are some people there whom I remember were very cool and helpful.
